TYPOGRAPHY AND GREEN SCREENING

Let me make a confession...

I'M REALLY BAD AT TYPOGRAPHY!

Choosing fonts and matching them with colours is definitely my biggest weakness. It was very hard for me to choose the right ones for the credits of the music video, so I did some research..

First of all, I searched what were the fonts used on old TVs (since the credits are put in there). This is what I found out:

Alien encounters font

Positive System font

I just used these for the intro creds in the video as they seemed to match the tv's presents to resemble the real one.

IN TERMS OF GREEN SCREENING.....

For the tv creds section, It took me a whole day to match the white noise image with the clip of our TV in order to make it as realistic as possible. We had put a green piece of card on top of the TV screen in order to allow premiere pro to process it, but with the dark light it was harder:

I then used a clip of white smoke we had filmed and overlapped it using the matte key to create a clearer image of the smoke surrounding the object. I obviously saturated and darkened the clip and I increased the vibrancy of the colours for it to look like this:

We asked Sammy to film the 'please don't go' part in his house as he had a professional green screen with equal lighting. However now seeing the result it was probably not a good idea. It was very hard for premiere pro to process the tones of the green screen and therefore it did not match very well with the rest of the video. Down below is a short explanation of what I mean..
